Blackjack
Some people believe that Blackjack originated in French casinos in the early 1700s where it was known as
"vingt-et-un" ("20 and 1") The game became known as Blackjack because if a player held a Jack of Spades and an Ace of Spades as the
1st two cards, the player was paid out extra. In a modern deck of 52 cards, those cards with a value of 10 (10, Jack, Queen and King) represent 30.8% of a
deck. You can look at both of your cards and find your total by simply adding the values of your cards. If the dealer's up card is an Ace he checks for a dealer black
jack first and then continues the game. Your hand is strictly played out against the hand
of the dealer. Indeed, if you're playing at a shoe game, the player cards are all dealt face up. In any
event, when you're just learning to play, don't hesitate to show the dealer or other players your cards and ask questions. Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. At first, the dealer provides the player with 2 cards and then the player has to decide upon the best option to choose which depends on the
total of his two cards and the dealer's card. The options that he gets are termed as stand, hit, split and double. The stand option means that the player
will stand on his current value. Hit means that the player draws one more card from the blackjack stack of cards. Then again he
gets the option of hit or stand for his two blackjack games. The player has the insurance to bet in favour of dealer getting a blackjack with his
next card. Although the player can stand or hit on any value the dealer must play by one simple rule,
17 or greater he will stand 16 or lower he will hit. Double - the player may place a bet equal to his initial wager but will only be able to draw one more card. Splitting - when the
player has two cards of equal value he may place a second bet equal to his first and the two cards are split and another card drawn to each card creating two
separate hands, these hands are then played as normal. Surrender - If the player feels he has a bad hand he may surrender
his hand and half his bet. At online casinos you will be playing alone against the dealer,
but some online casinos exist that offer you to share the table with other players. After bets have been placed the dealer will deal two cards (usually face up) to the players and two cards to himself (one face up and one face down) In
case the dealer busts, players at the table that did not bust themselves win the hand. The suits of the cards do not have any meaning in the game. The basic strategy is not very complicated, it is the optimum way of playing your hand if you don't count cards. Blackjack - the first two cards being dealt to a player are a ten value card and an ace. Stand - to
not draw any more cards. Stiff hand - a hand between twelve through sixteen. Surrender - an option where the player may give up half of their wager.
